WHAT MAKES THE WARP SO SPECIAL?
Since we entered the marked in summer 2007, we saw many smiles in the face of Warp skiers. We also heard so many times, that the Warp is sooo different than every other ski.
First of all, the Warp has no other material than space-proofed carbon fiber.
This material is so expensive and challenging to handle that only air- and space as well as Formula 1 are using this technology to produce there parts.
The patented Clou is that we adjust the flex not by adding more material, but by changing the orientation of carbon in some or all of our frames.
That means a stiffer ski has the same weight than a soft ski. Or the other way around, no matter how soft you will order your ski...with proper use it will not break!!
Thatʼs what one of our patents on this ski!
Compared to our competitors we think that is one of the best advantages to ski with a safe felling and no risk of heavy injury cause by material error.
The weight of the ski before adding the Finbox and painting is close to 1000g.
WHY DOES THE WARP ONLY COME IN ONE SIZE?
Simply because size does not matter - at least not skiing.
We found out that with the ideal size and the opportunity of fully adjustable flex numbers we can cover 85 -90% of our potential male customer.
Since we want to see fantastic performance of female skiers also, we currently working on a female Warp...
You know the feeling.... finally you find your perfect ski. You enjoy every set on it.. till... somehow, it got damaged by handle impact or during transportation or other hoodoos. You order a new ski... exactly the same.... and it will perform completely different! Since every production step is absolute computer controlled on the Warp, we are the only waterski company that is able to reproduce your ski in a way you can´t feel the difference between your first one and the new one.
TELL ME ABOUT THE VALVE
To have an "air core" creates new challenges. One of them is the change of volume during temperature changes as well as altitude changes.
Hot sun, cold winter, air traveling... all this forces the ski to „breath".
The Clou is to get rid of any air pressures, but at the same time make sure that water stays out... any time.
Therefore we cooperate with GORE and created the optimal technique.
WHY NO FOAM CORE?
First: the shape changes while curing.
Second: the core will get weaker every time you cross the wakes.
Third: if the outer skin gets damaged, the core will start to absorb water.
HOW DO I KNOW MY PERSONAL FLEXNUMBERS?
To create your own ski, you have to know some simple basics about Flexnumbers.
The Flexnumbers are measured on 4 spots of the ski.
The first one is called tail, it will be measured at 17" / 432mm
The second one is called mid and is measured at 25" / 635mm
The third one is called forward and is measured at 33" / 838mm
The last one is called tip and is measured at 41" / 1042mm
The amount of pressure (measured in pound) needed to deform the ski for 1/10 of an inch (2,54mm) will be your Flexnumber.
Different Flexnumbers will change the attitude of your Warp dramatically.
A soft ski will give you more feedback during the turn, while a stiffer ski travels with more speed at any time. This gives you the opportunity to ski a smoother curve.
